When we are the most human

In the aftermath of the death of a loved one we often vascilate between happiness and sadness. This is the closest we get to being truly human and understanding what it means to live in the “now/not yet” of the kingdom of God.

The kingdom has broken through with the arrival of Jesus Christ, but it exists alongside the present world of evil. One day, we don’t know when, Jesus will return and merge heaven and earth thus completing the set-up of His kingdom here on earth.

We are the most human when we still feel the sadness of living in the age we live, but feel the happiness of looking forward to what God is doing.
