SIP: Special Intention for Prayer: Marriage

praying_hands[1]I’m introducing a new weekly feature to the site, the SIP or Special Intention for Prayer. It is based off the Catholic concept of a Novena. A Novena is a prayer, or set of prayers, that are repeated for 9 days. You can get a much more detailed answer here in the Original Catholic EncyclopediaMine are only a week long and are based on whatever I feel God is leading me to pray for. We’ll see how this goes.

This weeks SIP is for Marriages. Specifically, marriages that are facing difficulty because of affairs, difficulty with trust, money fights and money problems, or communication problems.

Here is my prayer:

Dear Lord,
You ordained marriage from the beginning to be a lifelong and life-giving union. You have it as your desire that what you have joined together, no one shall separate. Marriages are under attack from sexual sin and brokenness, lack of faithfulness, and difficulty with communication. Bring your Spirit upon these marriages and bring them into the oneness that you desire for them. Bring them the people and resources to speak into their lives and be with them as they struggle through the hurt and pain. Through your Spirit they can be healed. Give them open hearts and courage, courage, courage.
I pray this in your sons mighty name, Christ Jesus. Amen.
