SIP: The future of my church and myself

The SIP or Special Intention for Prayer. It is based off the Catholic concept of a Novena. A Novena is a prayer, or set of prayers, that are repeated for 9 days. You can get a much more detailed answer here in the Original Catholic EncyclopediaMine are only a week long and are based on whatever I feel God is leading me to pray for. We’ll see how this goes.

As I announced here, I will be stepping down as Preaching Pastor of my church on Easter Sunday. SO, my prayer is for my wife and I  and my church.

Here is my prayer:

Dear Lord,

You gave me a wonderful ministry for the past year and it has been a joy and a challenge. As I move into the next place you desire for me, I pray that you will make that place visible and keep my anxiety low. I pray for my marriage, that is stay strong and united as we face any obstacles that may come up over this decision. I pray for the elders and parishioners of BLCF, that they discern proper next steps and my leaving will not be a stumbling block to continued attendance and that you will provide a way for them to continue to be fed through your Word and sacrament.

I pray this in your sons mighty name, Christ Jesus. Amen.
