SPECIAL INTENTION FOR PRAYER

The SIP or Special Intention for Prayer. It is based off the Catholic concept of a Novena. A Novena is a prayer, or set of prayers, that are repeated for 9 days. You can get a much more detailed answer here in the Original Catholic EncyclopediaMine are only a week long and are based on whatever I feel God is leading me to pray for. We’ll see how this goes.

This week I want to pray for all those who are pregnant, are trying to get pregnant, are struggling with infertility, or with multiple miscarriages. The road can be a hard one. It is frustrating, heart wrenching, and can put a lot of stress on a marriage. You often blame yourself or your spouse or both. I also pray that the Spirit will guide those considering getting help that they will seek wise counsel on what procedures are ethical and honouring to God.

Here is my prayer:

Dear Lord,

Your first command to the first couple, Adam and Eve, is to be fruitful and multiply. I pray that you protect the child you created through the time of pregnancy. I pray for those couples who have suffered the loss of a child through miscarriage or those who are struggling with infertility. I pray that the professionals who they may consult will be compassionate above all else. I pray that the couple will seek wise and Godly counsel as to what procedures are honouring of you and respectful of life and your design for marriage and sex.

I pray this in your sons mighty name, Christ Jesus. Amen.
