[DISCLAIMER: All claims to criminal acts in this article are still to be proven in court and Dr. Gosnell is innocent until proven guilty by a judge or jury and therefore all charges are alleged.]
I struggle when deciding whether to post certain material to my site, especially if it is political in nature. This however boils my blood like very few topics do. A Doctor (in title only), who ran an abortion clinic was arraigned by a grand jury on murder charges for murdering and keeping trophies of post-birth babies. He made millions. That’s only the first outrage. The second is that the mass media is not covering the trial (they seemed to have provided ample coverage when the charges were laid in 2011, but not the trial). This seems outrages and we should be ANGRY! O.J. Simpson trial – let’s camp out. Doctor of horrors – oh hum. I would think this would make for great sensationalism, but I guess the underlying issues are just too much for the media machine to manage.
The grand jury report in the case of Dr. Kermit Gosnell, 72, is among the most horrifying I’ve read. “This case is about a doctor who killed babies and endangered women. What we mean is that he regularly and illegally delivered live, viable babies in the third trimester of pregnancy – and then murdered these newborns by severing their spinal cords with scissors,” it states. “The medical practice by which he carried out this business was a filthy fraud in which he overdosed his patients with dangerous drugs, spread venereal disease among them with infected instruments, perforated their wombs and bowels – and, on at least two occasions, caused their deaths.” (The Atlantic)
And here are some articles from the slim pickings around the net that are covering the case.
Regardless of your view on what the media is or is not doing, take some time to pray for all those involved and affected by this case and what led up to it.
None of this should really surprise anyone. This is the natural outcome of abortion policy and the mindset that allows it. The baby is unwanted, so be done with it, as expeditiously (or not) as possible. Aldous Huxley was right – Brave New World indeed.
